The SS 2018 collection theme is “Gioground,” a term coined by tiny dinosaur. Whatʼs behind this is “nature,” not only as its simple meaning, but as a manifestation that we live in our own natural manner, or behave naturally, said Naomi Yamamoto. She designed items with attention to the best possible relaxation in wearersʼ everyday life. Use of natural materials is not the only way to represent nature. Naomi has selected materials best suited to each item, including synthetic fabrics and functional high-tech materials to create modern “neo-natural” clothes.
The items with a motif of tree stumps feature fabrics printed with a downsized image of large stumps that actually exist in the mountain. This makes wearers feel as if they were embraced by nature. Without leaving a city and venturing into the wild, we can enjoy nature in our own way, for instance, looking at a photograph of a mountain on the wall, or navigating the web to see the images of mountains.
The distinctive design of tiny dinosaur lifts wearersʼ spirit while many items are home-washable and easy to maintain. It seems to be one of the rare brands that suggests a solution to modern consumersʼ challenges with design.
