SUNAOKUWAHARA held an exhibition and displayed its autumn/winter 2019 collection.
This season’s theme is “December 2nd – Deep Blue Night.” The collection portrays solemn and somewhat solitary feelings in the festive mood of the Christmas and party seasons in early December when cities start to glitter and people become excited. The textile colors and patterns suggest the sky at dusk when the sun is about to set, or blurred illumination in the raindrops.
This season’s collection is characterized by the dropped shoulder lines that we can find in dresses and outerwear, including a mannish coat made of a fabric woven in the Bishu region with the fine British wool tweed yarn.
