SUNAOKUWAHARA exhibited its new 2018 Autumn/Winter collection at SUNAOKUWAHARA Kita-Aoyama, a directly managed shop opened on February 22, 2018.
SUNAOKUWAHARA is a womenʼs brand providing finely-produced clothing, collaborating with Japanese craftsmen and factories in creating original textiles, printing, and sewing.
The designer Kuwahara said that the new collection expresses inclination to the north, with dry breeze and pure air.
One series features raised flock print with the motif of shadow leaves. Partially layered organdy creates a mysterious mood. It reminds us of European vintage dresses. Voluminous blousons and coats with long pile fur and military-inspired nylon are the products of craftsmanship of Japan. They keep women warm as they walk in the cold. A firm-textured melton coat manufactured at a weaving shop in Bishu represents the strong will of women.
This seasonʼs collection is infused with an intellectual mood and nostalgia.
